Laura Easter’s Thoughts
by Laura Easter (Dorset)
I know Sarah will be very uncomfortable in allowing this to be apart of this website, but I’m going to continue anyway.
After knowing and working alongside Sarah for nearly 4yrs, 6 days a week, come rain or occasionally sunshine I feel I can comment on how I (Laura Easter) perceive her to be;
Sarah has been, without a shadow of doubt one of the biggest influences in my life so far, she feels like a guidance counselor, mother figure and best friend all rolled into one.
She has allowed me to learn and grow in all that I do, and in ways I never thought possible, my thoughts and ideas are always acknowledged and discussed, usually in depth. I never find this difficult as we are usually, always on the same wavelength.
I have certainly become more competent with every aspect of natural horsecare, including my riding, and even now, barefoot trimming (When I first met Sarah, I had a shod and bitted horse). Certainly no more. Sarah has allowed me to realize that everything you do, regardless of how big or small, should be done for good reason and in the most natural and ergonomic (which means “intended to provide optimum comfort and to avoid stress or injury “) way possible.
Differences of opinion rarely occur, but has been known to happen on the rare occasions (once in the last four years isn’t bad!) but this is all part of the package of learning.
Oh yes, and one last thing I should add, Sarah is my employer, although it feels wrong to tell you this, as I have never been made to feel like “the groom” and it never really feels like work anyway.
